Farmgain Africa together with the National Association of Women Organisations in Uganda (NAWOU) is to provide services pertaining to the capacity development of 26 women organisations in 13 Subcounties of Luwero District in the following:
- Farming as a business
- Good farming practices,
- Energy harnessing,
- Value addition and capturing
- Access to markets and market information
NAWOU is an umbrella of women’s organisations registered in 1993. Its membership consists of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community based organisations (CBOs), faith-based organisations (FBOs), professional associations and women’s groups. NAWOU’s origin dates as far back as 1975 when it was formed by government as a women’s machinery, the National Council for Women (NCW), responsible for coordinating the work of women’s organisations.
